Modifying reverse cam for hitch up . Possible?

OK, been reading the various bits on the subject of reversing cameras. Quite how Land Rover managed to design a reversing camera that can't see the towball is beyond me but I digress.

Anyway, I thought about using another input on the screen for a separate camera but the issue with a VSE is they're all used. Big Cry

So, relocate the existing unit is one option, probably to the number plate light receptacle. Not the best option since most of the rearward vision is then lost.

I was thinking about a second unit mounted in the light receptacle and some kind of input switch but not sure how best to do this.

Or, if such a thing exists, a bluetooth camera which could be paired up as if it was a venturecam. Maybe even butcher a spare venturecam and fit the bits in somehow.

Anyone got any other ideas, or possibly even done this before please?

TIA

Dom.

I've been thinking the same think but what about using your Venture Cam instead??

I need to get mine working but failing that i'll just have to buy a 12v wifi jobby that uses the 2.45ghz band and use that instead for hitching up Smile

Does your model come with a venture cam? If so land rover do a sucker/holder to stick the camera to glass... Stick it on the back by the number plate somewhere! Thats how i would put my trailer on...

+1 - use the venture cam for hitching, attaching the holder to the low tail gate.
