AIDS. Can probably be a week off with feet up and paracetamol..

Infectious Chlamydia?

Norovirus (winter vomiting bug) is good as you have to remain isolated for 48 hours. though I did actually get that one and it was a pretty miserable time off!

Migraine?

nasty case of the ahfookits

Brilliant, suitably vague! Entirely true.

EDIT: sorry for your loss.

Start thinking like that it's time for a new job pretlove Rolling Eyes

Some of the good ones I have seen over the years from my staff:

"Blood pressure" (neither high or low just pressure!)

"All body pain"

The ones where people just don't want you at work:

"Flu "like" symptoms"

"Food poisoning"

or one we all can use (me and dan in particular)

"car broken down" Laughing .

You could always tell them you need time off to go for a job interview at the other end of the country........................ could of course be taken in two ways
a) Jeez we need to keep this guy, better give him a pay rise
or
b) Jeez would we really miss him if he went and just think how much the wages bill would reduce by if he left

so on second thoughts maybe not such a good idea after all!

Then you could always use the nation's favourite " I've got a pain in the back and can hardly walk" excuse 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Not so much pulling a sicky, but when I worked for Barclays, (the soul destroying call centre for my sins) ,leading up to Christmas, as it was getting quieter and quieter, they started releasing half day holiday's if you had any available to take and only if you gave a good enough reason why you should be allowed a half day.

One of the women on my team was trying for a baby, so used the excuse that she was ovulating and needed to get home quick. They let her take a half day.

So, that got me thinking, does the spotty teenager who worked in that department know what ovulation was? So rang them up and said that I was ovulating too, stupidly, they gave me a half day and told me to rush home Laughing

My team leader at the time was in hysterics. 2006 Mercedes CLS

Allthough not a sicky as such, back in the mid 90s I hated where I worked so much that I just walked out and went home.

I had the rest of the week off, than another 2 weeks off.

I got a letter come through the post asking if I was going back and to contact them. I ignored it, then the following Monday after the letter I turned back up as if nothing had happened. They called me in the office and I said I was depressed! Nothing more was ever said!

I left a few months later anyway! Reformed
