My Running Costs

Since I brought my car last October, everytime I have put fuel in, fixed it or basically spent money on it such as tax insurance or whatever, I have made a note of dates and costs on a spreadsheet in Excel

Today I clicked on the total so far ...... Big Cry

Somethings are better not knowing! Reformed

Might be worth doing on mine as well as i've not long had it i cna soon total stuff up, fuel is the very scarey bit though, mine almost equals the monthly finance, and i can imagine the folks on here who can afford the SC and newer types aren't far off either...

since ownership i've spent,

£120 new battery
£200 remap which was a waste of time and money
£50 for a servotronic valve
£1.20 for a rubber tailgate cover
£17 air filter
£12 oil filter
£230 window tints
£255 personnel reg number
£24 wiper blades

£909.20 total and not including the freebies what my son has supplied from his work.... probably forgot something though..

brought and sold wheels which cancel each other out.

£170 to be spent on an air con condenser.

and the obvious tax and mot and insurance, so all in all not that much at the moment...

Right, off the top of my head

Fuel costs

approx £2400 on fuel in last 7 months
£1800 wheels Whistle
£240 window tints
£650 piano black trim
£200 piano black steering wheel
£260 on remap, made no difference so got my money back
£50 transfer of personal reg (this is prob wrong but cant remember how much it was)
£300 on pro detail (this was Censored and the biggest waste of money ever!!)
£150ish service & filters

about to spend £400 on next years insurance and £75 on MOT and EGR blanking kit.

TBH most of the above I didnt need to do and if I could turn back the clock I'd have just got a higher spec car in the first place. I will not make the mistake again. Autobiography next Thumbs Up FFRR TD6 HSE

Greg, you made me feel a bit better! Ive spent just shy of £6k since last October. That is basicallly everything, from fuel, insurance & tax, to a few repairs, and things I didnt need to buy but I did! (and I still have things in the pipeline!)

But, at the moment I am very happy with my car! (allthough I have no idea why I started keeping a spreadsheet on every cost - and still am!) Reformed

i suppose we should only list the costs to keep the range on the road like repairs etc not the non-essential bits like my tints for instance...

Well if its just maintenance and repairs, with various little bits along with a service and 4 new tyres all round since ive owned it (thanks to a nice tax rebate!) I have spent £1393.81.

Next time I need tyres I might go for a wheel/tyre combination I think! Reformed

Ive noticed that both have spent money on the remaps which they both go on to say was a waste of money ! In all it seems the best thing to do then is just leave these remaps alone Wink Run with the standard settings Thumbs Up

I think they are good. The reason why mine didn't seem to make much of a difference is that it may have been done before. Stan (scarey) did see improvements in performance but it was the mpg that stayed the same i believe. FFRR TD6 HSE
