2006 Range Rover Vogue SE Supercharged Java Black
Another new member!

Just a quick hello.

I found this great site through Pistonheads, and have found it to be very informative Very Happy

My FF RR background... In 2003 I purchased a 4.4 vogue demonstrator in Adriatic blue with parchment leather. Fantastic car, which I kept until the LR warranty expired. At the time, there were world-wide issues with the diff, and although my car was fine, LR didn't aknowlege the problem! Needless to say, I sold the car - 18 months later I received a letter from LR to say that they would sort the diff out FOC. I was livid, as I planned on keeping the car for some years longer!

Anyway, I decided to take the plunge again early on this year. Not wanting to stomach too much depreciation as I had previously experienced with a FF RR, I had decided on a car on or near it's third birthday. I was disappointed that the terrain response cars had ditched the BMW comfor seats in favour of the inferior sport seats - so my mind was made up - a 2005-2006 pre terrain response 4.2 S/C.

So in June of this year, I finally found one in Java black, Ivory leather, and just 17k from new!

So far, I have been very pleased with my purchase, although only last week my engine management light came on. Diagnosis? A faulty Lambda on bank one. Car booked in to get both sides done next week as a precaution.

Hi, Welcome to the forum, this is a great place. You should get some pics up soon!

RE your Lambda sensor , have you checked the PCV hoses? On the BMW 4.4 they only last 3-4 years before they fail and start to let air into places where it shouldn’t be! This is more age than mileage related as the hoses aren't oil resistant and they dissolve so even if you have low mileage it's worth checking.

I'm pretty sure this is a problem relating to the silicone in fuel a while back.

Apart from the obvious cars immediately damaged at the time, it was suggested that Lambda sensors would have a dramatic reduction in lifespan - something we wouldn't really be able to put a figure on.

Clicked on just over 20k when the warning light came on. Plugged OBD in, reset the fault code, filled up with Optimax, and the light came on again!

Deffo the sensor Sad

I had the comfort seats in my 03 Vogue....I now have Premium Windsor Air cooled seats in my 07 SC and I have to say I IMO I think they are actually better in every way!! If you have nothing nice to say,say nothing at all.
