A little bit of trolling for a Friday evening Smile

So no Android and Linux fanboys then (he says posting his colours to the mast!) I think Thrasher does Linux too...?

I run an HTC Legend which does everything (even using it as a wireless access point for my netbook, when in the middle of nowhere) huge number of apps that do what you want. Don't need a camera, not a keen photographer so the phone takes care of that too (everyone always seems to apologise when they use their iPhone and upload the pictures here?)

All my PCs run some flavour of Linux - desktop/server/netbook why do things the way Microsoft or Apple want you to do them, instead of the way you want to do it.

Tablets have got some way to go I'll admit. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

We administer a BES here and that's going to get filled with lighter fuel soon. piece of overpriced guff.

I use iPhone 4 with IMAP and iOS 5 looks to improve the enterprise capabilities.

Scrap that BES and move onto an exchange server and just lock the iPhones and droids that want to connect to it.

BES is only good if you want easy mobile access to a cesg level of security but if you can cope without it then don't bother Smile

On the front of contracts though I've never had one for years, I still to rolling monthly ones and buy the phone I want.
If you get bored it can just go back in eBay without too much loss and move into another and with monthly contracts you get much greater deals Smile

It's very much a personal choice but for me an iPhone 3GS hooked me in and I love my iPhone 4 and have just started looking into whether I can actually be "up with the times" and secure a iPhone 5 or whatever its going to be called in it's first month of release. Thumbs Up

Still can't justify the price of a Macbook yet though Big Cry

I will probably buy an iPhone 4 when the iPhone 5 is released or 4S if the rumours are to be believed. Apple and the carriers usually discount the current model when a new one is released and I am not bothered about having the latest and greatest. The iPhone 4 is a decent enough phone and it works (plus I don't want to go through the pain of swapping it out due to bugs like screen bleeding, which I had on the iPad 2).

When it comes to technology, I am generally agnostic. I used to purely buy Apple products but two laptops failing on me changed my tune. I still have an Airport Extreme and an iPad 2. The missus has an iPhone 4 and I have her old 3G (plus a HTC Desire). My main desktop is a HP server running Windows 7 (cheap deal from Insight). After doing the install and initially build, I haven't had any need to tinker with it. It just works.

Blackberries are great if you email/post on facebook/twitter a lot. My view is that if you do compose a lot of text, a physical keyboard will always beat a virtual one. I used to have the Bold 9000 which was a great device. The flashing service light is great but I think it makes instils OCD in people Rolling with laughter Paul

How about using BES Express. It's free, needs no CALs either and has most of the features of BES... Graham

That's what we're doing for some staff who are enamoured of their BB's. Not me. Good suggestion and has knocked £££'s off our monthly line rental.

Cheers.
Thumbs Up
