I’ve just bought my V8 4.4 petrol/lpg RR 92k 3 weeks ago and even tho the dealer said its been service recently i thought i would do it all myself again just so i know its been done 100%

So I did

Plugs
Oil + filter
Air filter
Pollen filter

And also had to have a new header tank as the other 1 cracked which the dealer sorted for me

What other things would you recommend I do and check just so I now the car is in its best possibly conditions

If it hasn't had an LPG service within 12 months, then get one done. If the gearbox oil hasn't been changed, then get that done. Maybe look at brake fluid. If you have access to a ramp then get it up on the ramp and check for corrosion underneath, treat it and waxoyl, whilst you're there check suspension components!

cheers for that 1 thing my friend is a auto gearbox mechanic and i asked him about the gearbox oil and he said leave it alone as he has had rr's in before for this and they have caused more problems. the reason why he said it will loosen any debris in the gear box which could then cause problems ... if is isn’t broke don’t fix it was his words... but i bet you i will get it done anyway lol

very good point i will get it done as then i have peace of mind that its all nice clean oil in there .. is it a big job and what oil is needed and how much

Check the PCV breathers too to make sure they're not split...

just got home to take the ffrr for a spin and guess what flat batt what a pain in the gary. do i change the batt and if so whats the biggest batt i can get in there which should give loads of batt power

Relatively new to FFRR ownership as well, on my list is the transfer box, is this the same as the transmission? 2006 Supercharged

Check for rust on rear quarters and rear arches and jacking points, especially rear. (search for rust found in search box)

Keep an eye on water level, don't ignore a loss of water, if loosing have a thorough look over all hose
connections, front and back, also look at water pump shaft for leaks.

Worth spraying some lithium grease on the steering column mechanism.

Check for oil leaks, the rocker cover gaskets are prone to leaks, have a feel around rocker cover for oil especially at the back where there is half moon shaped gasket (that you won't be able to see) Also sometimes the innner seal on the rocker cover near the plugs can leak putting oil down by your plugs, but you will have seen this is ok when you did your plugs.

Check for dampness in the boot area under the hatch of the boot on the rear passanger side, under here is the sat nav and stereo amp. Mine has been fine but otheres have had probs.

Check antifreeze strength is correct as it is an aluminium block and it needs to be 50%

Check the rear boot deck for rust and spray some wax or grease down the drain hole to help stop rust.

Gearbox oil change as mentioned & PCV valve and hose replacement along with oil seperator clean.

Last but no means least keep an eye on the forum as thier is alot of good info on here.

These RR's and BMW suffer from a fault on the final stage resister, which sits in your heater ducting and when it goes faulty it leaves the blower on very low and because the car is sensitive to low voltages it will flatten battery. This is an easy fix - search for flatt battery, there is loads of info.

It could still be your battery though, best place at the moment is eurocar parts with 25% off get the biggest bosch battery, works out about 100 pound.

Anything that you need, do a search, there is loads of info.
