On Disco 3 they have a Wheel Thread that was really good as to what wheel would fit . I cant seem to find a similar thread on here ( Scarey may correct me) If not would it be good to pull together a thread with pics of what fits along with wheelnuts load ratings widths etc that covers all years from 2002 to present? Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

good idea googsy but there is loads of info on the forum agreed its not in one thread but it is there....

basically there are 4 tyres sizes that fit the range, 255/55/18, 265/60/18, 255/55/19 and 255/50/20..

Mine has 255/55/18 though and the sticker on the b pillar seems to say its the right size

Does the fact that a standard tyre pre '07 could have been an 255/55R18 mean that the earlier cars all had a smaller rolling circumference wheel than the newer cars?

07 onwards have 255/55R19 or 255/50R20 listed as standard wheels. These both have the same rolling diameter of 30.4 inches.

If, as Kingpleb has said, that 255/55R18 was a standard tyre size this would have a overall diameter of 29.4 inches - would this not give potentially huge issues with speedo calibration? (255/60R18 would have diameter of 30.5 inches and then maintain a standard rolling diameter throughout the different rim sizes)

possibly the earlier ranges with the 255/55/18 had the speedos calibrated to compensate for the 1 inch difference..

i dont think there are many of that size about tbh...might be wrong though.. ... - .- -.

For what its worth I have 255/60-18 standard size on 7.5 x 18 rim. Some optional rims 8 x 18.
Also 255/55 -19 & 255 /50 -20. So rolling distance is all about the same for 18",19" & 20"
The difference between 255/60- & 265/60-18 is about 1% or 1 mph on the speedo at 60mph. IIRC
I'm looking for some semi offroad tyres will be going on 18" rims, More side wall.

I'm a simple person really and numbers confuse me Sorry for the confusion guys!

Means my FFRR is a bit safer from being some wierd version as my local dealer can never find it by VIN or plate lol

Time to hit the bay and look for some wheel sets now lol
