Looks pretty impressive to me, no body role at high speed cornering!

That'd rule me out I reckon. That's a lot of difference and my guess enough difference to hit uk sales.

Hmmm, let's wait and see.

Spoke to a dealer here in Paris. Apparently there's a plan for the L405 to compete directly with the S63/760Li and up! The high end model (Autobiography) should go head-to-head with the Bentleys and the S65's. 2000 BMW M5, Avus Blue/LeMans Leather Interior

The vast majority are on the never-never - probably only an extra couple of hundred a month over 3 years.

Of course. I'd stupidly forgot that option Smile

IF i really don't like the looks, I'd be tempted (as someone else mentioned) to get one of the last of the current versions (AutoBiog - big spec) and have it as a keeper.

If that price is correct I shall never own one. 80 grand is supercar money for me, FFS my 2 year old Fezza 355 only cost me 58 grand when I had that Shocked 2 years old and 917 miles on the clock.

For 80k I'd have a Jag XFR as my daily drive and a S/H disco for the towing.

Look at it another way. A D4 HSE with ALL the toys is 58 grand. There really isn't another 25 grands worth of luxury and toys in the FFRR.

As for competing with the Bentley, well all I can say is that LR are deluded. The Bentley is about the last word in luxury whereas the FFRR is a nice comfy all rounder. Nice and comfy, capable etc etc. But a Bentley it ain't. You don't see Holland & Holland "Improving" Bentleys now, do you ?

No, you actually see far worse.

Whilst the price will put off some existing buyers, I can see it fitting in that end of the market quite well.

Continental GT and Flying Spur are basically rebodied Phaetons. Same chassis, drivetrain, reworked W12 engine, gearbox, etc.,...

The true Bentley enthusiast will go for a proper Bentley with the 6.75L V8 engine.
