New RR owner with a few issues. Begging for advice

Hi gurus. First post here. JUST bought a 53 plate RR V8. When we viewed it the say nav was working fine now it's not. The dealer thinks the disk is corrupt? Does this sound correct? Also there is a warning on the dash that the air suspension is inactive, but it hasn't dropped or low at front or rear, they did have a shock replaced I was wondering is there something that may need resetting after the work? I hope this all makes sense and I'm not being stupid

Thanks in advance, matt

first thing to do is dis-connect the battery after the range has fallen asleep , then leave for about 30 mins and re-connect...after re-connection, turn the steering wheel fully left then full right, hopefully your suspension error will go and the sat nav will be ok...if not let us know and we'll start scratching our heads trying to help you... ... - .- -.

Have a look at Marsie' 3 days of ownership thread. Sounds like you could have similar issues. Battery new/old contact surfaces of the battery poles clean ???? etc. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Cheers guys. I had found the tip of disconnecting the battery but didn't realise you had to leave it o long. I did it for a couple of minutes? Also the sat nav unit (at the rear) appears to be dead completely(no power light). Wondering if that's maybe a fuse?

Guys thanks for all the advice so far. Update, I have managed to remove the "suspension inactive" warning from the dash, and the deity gear is working as it should but the vehicle won't rise or drop? Although there is now no notice there is clearly an issue. What do we think? Pump?

Re the Sat Nav, its quite easy to access, check the fuse, check the connections, check for moisture in the back left compartment. Is the disc in the machine?

It's normally dry and dusty back there, if its damp you will tell straight away, water ingress was an issue on some cars.

Worst case scenario you need a new sat nav unit and ebay will provide plenty, these are BMW units so plenty about.

Thanks for the reply. The nav was addressed in another thread also. I had checked fuses and checked the unit itself to find it sodden. Googled to find the "rear water ingreess" issue. I must say it is a complete let down that an issue like this exists let alone it being so common it has a name. And a water shedder is not a good enough solution for me, my navigation is not the problem, the fact my car let's in water is. You can by a never before heard of car and that won't let in water something that was 70k new definitely shouldn't lol. The garage that's done the suspension thinks they have found 2 areas of concern which they are trying to remedy. Do you have any input as to where the issue lies perhaps. If so I can forward that to the garage it would be a big help. I am sure given its such a widespread and large problem it must have been investigated in house?

Thanks for any input you may have
