Rear tailgate

Hi all

Only recently purchased my 2005 RR so just getting used to it....on the rear tailgate (upper section) when I close it - it bangs shut in a way that gives me the impression that there is no "damping" in the struts - just a big thud!.....I was exepcting a more graceful/gently close......do i need to replace the tailgate struts or all they all like this??

Cheers

Re: Rear tailgate

They all bang. My 11.5MY bangs too. Not very graceful indeed!

The struts fitted to the armoured Ffrr are heavier duty iirc but they cost it as well I bet!!!

Yeah, it's horrid. Really poor, for such an expensive car. The tailgate on a Focus closes more smoothly and feels more "expensive". Doors are the same. And glovebox lid.

Disco's a bit better but still in 1960's Cortina territory. Graham

We digress but i think if there is a Full Fat RR then there is a Semi Skimmed isn't there.

Definitely, I like it Thumbs Up

I shall introduce it into the banter at work (where we have two "Full Fats" and a "Semi"...) and see how it goes. Graham
