Heated Seat Repair

Just got the bill for the repair of Driver's heated seat that was faulty on my 2006 SC.
It's an eye watering £934.67 plus fitting. Big Cry
Two new full leather replacements, (seat and back) required which undoubtedly look great as 76,000 miles on the previous one's had made their mark; but who designed an electrical component that when faulty requires about half a cow to be binned? "No repair possible" by my friendly mechanic, I was told (as confirmed by a main stealer).
It would have been much cheaper to throw away my kilt and buy a pair of breeks!!!!

The bill doesn't say which is which but the items are £357.52 for one seat cover and £421.37 for the other (both plus VAT).
It took Burnfield Motors in Glasgow several days to get the parts.
Including fitting new brake pads, wear indicators/track control arm/lower O/S ball joint the Labour was £300 which I thought was pretty reasonable.

It would have been cheaper to buy a salvage seat, unbolt the old one, sell it on eBay for a few hundred quid and bolt in the newer one. Discovery 4 HSE

They've looked after our cars for MOT's and the occasional repair for quite a few years now.
Absolutely no problems with them. 18 Fenwick Road Giffnock.
First time with the FFRR and John Fenton, the guy I deal with, says he can call in a RR specialist (whatever that is) for any electrical jobs when I need him.
Is he just being helpful or does he see the future?

RRUK
On reflection you're not wrong
With a bit more time and.the forum's collective knowledge I should have posted a query, but we live and learn

Thanks sidmini for the link
Most of these appear to be rear seats, so when (if) the time comes to replace them .......

Googsy,
Don't knock it if you haven't tried it.
There's only one person wears the trousers in my house..... And she's in the kitchen feeding the dog!
