BMW Lear amplifier will work in 2004 Vogue ?

my amp is on the blink, it cuts out at random, power light on left knob stays on, if I switch on and off, amp comes back for a few mins then goes again

anyway, new are £700ish, but BMW Lear from an X5 are £180-250 used on fleabay

anyone had sucess replacing theirs with a BMW part number lear ?

will it need coding in at a dealer ?

TIA cheers
bogie

Hello There

Don't know if you're still interested but I bought a used Lear DSP Amplifier (ex 525, exact same part number as RR) last night, delivered today, plugged it in and much to my surprise, and delight, it worked first time of asking. No re-coding or anything. I did try buying new but they don't appear to be available.

Bogie, If you pm me your current model number, I have 2 spare working amps of different type which i accumulated whilst trying to find the correct one for mine!. You can have it at cost ((can't remember off-hand but will find the receipt and let you know b4)
If you could also attach a photo of your connector ports (showing how many 'cos some have 2 and some have only one). Thumbs Up

cheers will take a look tomorrow

to be honest, it hasnt done it for a while now...im starting to think its water related and I should just take everything out and it that waterproof sheet part, dry it out and re-assemble ...may keep me going another 6-12 months before I trade her in for a supercharged Smile

will drop you a PM if I need an amp

thanks cheers

this is what I mean
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-BMW-E39-...484312bbb7

same part as in the X5 and BMW Range Rover (pre facelift in 2005)

mine has been ok recently, starting to think its water related and I should get the plastic sheet in the boot AV compartment ready for winter cheers
