not sure exactly how its calculated but it seems to constantly adap. Mine has always been un-nervingly accurate, even when there's been traffic problems, I can ring home and tell the wife exactly when to have the dinner ready! |

The initial calculations are based on average road speeds for any given type of road. Then it will adapt itself to your current speeds/averages.

As it constantly changes according to the varying conditions, you'll not notice massive differences in the arrival time unless you drastically alter course.
