Headrest Removal

How do I remove the headrests without taking the seat apart? They're electric headrest.

I've got seat covers I want to fit and I have to take the headrests out to fit them.

Looked at the RAVE and it says to take the seat apart and undo the two screws. There must be an easier way.

Done a search but couldn't find anything.

It's a 2003.

Just raise up the headrest enough to get your hand underneath and give it a good "thump" upwards Rolling Eyes Bsically the end of each stem is a rounded plastic component that locates into a plastic "claw" on the headrest motor.

I had mine in an out a number of times on my old car without any issue when I fitted the headrest screens. Thumbs Up

I extended the headrest to maximum, then gave it the prescribed 'THUMP' several times and it popped out. Seat covers fitted , job sorted Thumbs Up Cheers Andy

I'll take some pics tomorrow.

They're genuine LR seat covers, I know with the new ones you don't have to remove the headrests, must have been something they came up with after everyone complained about removing headrests.....
