To close off this post.
I replaced the valve block with the later FPLA type, as per the technical bulletin. I didn't need to bleed it post fit.

Yes, I am aware of the recall, I don't think mine was done. It's a 2013 car and fitted with the CPLA valve.

Old post now, but for info
I had exactly the same leak on my L322 TDV8. I removed the plug and sealed the threads with gasket sealant.
It's not leaked again
