The items you mention have little affect on the range. Perhaps if it's freezing outside and you first start the car. Once warmed up the drop in range is insignificant. Well, that's my experience.

My Apple Watch does have a cellular plan so no need to have your iPhone with you at all times.

The beauty of the activity watch is you can go surfing with it.
Not that I ever have, but you can of course go surfing wearing your Apple Watch too. So I guess, it's similar functionality? |
