Morning, sorry for the dealy in getting back to you.
Yes it turns out the EGR cooler is a common (ish) problem as is the intercooler gasket failure. Both on the same part of the engine, in the V.

They did do a sniff test which was inconclusive (I recall from phone call earlier) it wasn't a slam dunk positive but they say they can see coolant from the head gasket area, that's why they ... |
