The 5HP24 has different oil spec I'm afraid. I wouldn't use anything apart from the correct ZF lifeguard fluid.

Timing chain design was meant to be corrected in 2013 apparently. When in 2013 is another matter.

Oil/Flush certainly. Then get someone with an IID tool to update engine adaptations. NOT gearbox adaptations. See how it goes.

Sounds like a failed battery. Both low and high voltage points to high resistance at the battery. Check connections are tight and cables in good condition first though.

Ahh yes, indeed. Moisture should boil off under vacuum, so yes - a long term vac will probably get you some capacity back in the old desiccant.

As I recall I think there was a dowel there, yes. I gave up at the bolt stage, the replacement pipe sections were not ruinously expensive - it was just easier.
