There are lower brackets that will not be there if the car was not spec'd with it. They are easy to retrofit but you will need to source them either with the retractable guard or separately.

| Had the same on the drivers door in the summer. Would open from the inside, but not the outside. Bought a cheap generic cable from eBay and all is well again. |

You really need a clamp meter to check for parasitic drains. Disconnecting cables and putting a multimeter inline will often 'wake' the car up again.
