The DVLA think its a 1972 according to the Gov website. A school friends father had a white 4 door circa 1975 which a third party company was producing, can't remember who at the moment. Thumbs Up

It looks like a late car, and has alloys fitted

4 door wasnt available until 1981-ish, IIRC

5 speed box wasn't available until early 80's too

Later models had black rear pillars

I do believe something is being naughty
And rather ambitious thinking it can be MOT'd in an afternoon. There's greenery growing inside the car Laughing

I guess someone has put a late shell on an early chassis and VIN probably to get free road tax at some point.

in 2006 it had only had 8K on the clock and 2 years later still not broke 11k.

If it is a monty then its is already a collectors item.

I bet the chassis is the only bit left from the 1970's. 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

Now that's a project for someone.

No idea on the dates when 4doors started, but that looks like it will need a full body off restoration.
I like the seller's post that it will have an mot. I wonder what the brakes / fluids are like Rolling Eyes
Got to love the greenery on the inside too Laughing Too many toys, not enough time

I think he's confused about the year - perhaps someone told him that these were made from around 1972. Sept 84 build lost the front quarter windows but the centre console doesn't appear to have ashtrays like my Sept 84. He doesn't say that he has owned it from new, just ...forever, meaning that it feels like for a very long time.

Something very wrong, possible 're shell onto a 72 chassis engine and axles.
Not a montverdi either, that's a genuine factory shell and doors Remember:- amateurs built the ark

The door handles are in the LR production location rather than the Montiverdi location which was an inch or so higher and always sticks out like a sore thumb... Thumbs Up

Yeah....and the shut line angle is wrong between the bottom of the rear window and the rear wheel arch, plus the small window in the rear door is wrong for a Monteverdi too. It’s def a factory shell.

Def a project for a brave soul.

I think it's an early 4 door full stop. 1981 to 1986 as it has the exposed hinges on the bonnet and doors... As far as the reshell goes there are a few wee problems with that... the original RRC that used the lt95 box (4 speed and transfer in same case) had a fixed cross member.. meaning that to do a clutch you either had to strip the interior out and remove the floor, or, you had to remove the engine.. Now I could be wrong, but I don't think that the 5 speed gearbox with fit in the early chassis, and to get at the gearbox for any work it will be body off.

So my best guess is it's an early 4 door everything with a 2 door reg number and possibly vin tag, if it's got a chassis number I'd bet on it not matching, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't turn out to be a ringer.... Shocked

Question now is who do you tell?? Where's Pete when you need him?? Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Surely the early 2 doors came out early 70s,on a H/J plate,so this cant be the correct number,it being a dateless one which finished early 60s?
