Matching rubber all round helps a lot, and it normally is a good sign of how well the cars been cared for. Yours appears to have that from what we can see in the photos'.

Have fun with it. Enjoy.

As others suggest. It's worth putting a new worm driv ...

Speedy difference is negligible. Around 6% difference, and still within the national constabularies "rule of thumb" 10% + 2, 3 mph.

Tested at 70 mph via satnav, my speedo showed me at aro ...

Absolute rubbish. It is all very much dependant on the offset of the alloy you are fitting. Just fitted 22 x 10j with offset of 50 and 285/45/22 tyres.

No rubbing anywhere whatsoever.

How vague do you need to be on a sniff test? After all you're only testing for hydrocarbons in the coolant system. There either is or is not any.

Had water pump impellers come adrift before causing similar issues. Would be fine until you drove vehicle. Would be checking that and also the thermostat before pulling the heads.

Remove gear stick surround, just pulls off. Then you'll see the mechanical arm that locks it in park. Move lever up to allow you to select neutral.
