Are you sure it's speed specific?

I had this problem and turned out my engine had the wrong injectors fitted by the previous owner, however that was a TD6, not 4.4

hmm Never thought to take out the front centre vents. Do they go all the way back and protrude into the path of the blower?

I'm over 100 miles from stockport so would feel bad having you drive 250 ...
