Aux Fuel Burning Heater was standard on the TD6, and offered quicker warm up time and supplemented the cabin heater. You could spec it with a remote kit that would enable you to turn the heater on remotely. I believe all TD6's have the option of Park Heating which you can set via timer in the MID?

The Aux Fuel Burning Heater was also an option on the V8 petrol but I've only ever seen it installed once even though I desperately wanted it for mine. Part Number JEC000290 for those interested!

But what I really want to know is, did they fit it as standard with the TDV8 or was it an option? Discovery 4 HSE

Hi I am soon to be a FFRR owner, and was just wondering about the remote park heating.

I am going to be buying a 2003 TD6 Vogue (TV/Sat Nav etc)

Will this have the programmable heating option as standard? i.e. would I be able to say at 7am every morning warm the car up in the winter?

Not too fused about remote starting as this seems to be an option which it probably doesn't have but would love to be able to configure it via the Computer screen to come on daily.

Thanks

Si

Noddy,

Look under the bonnet for the FBH, it might not be there. BMW built cars all seem to have had the timers for the blowers so you can vent the car on the clock, but the park heating went one stage further of course.

You normally get an additional key fob to switch it on and off. It's bloody great on a cold winters morning to get into a warmed car. Very Happy Discovery 4 HSE

Noddy, yes I believe it is retro fittable, I know a few owners of Disco 3's have done it - have a look at their forum, there was loads of info on there.

It is the best and most useful accesory that the FFRR has, I click mine on with the remote from about 1/2 a mile away in the a.m. great on a frosty morning when you are going shooting, the whole interior is warm and toasty and all the windows frost and fog free - the spaniels love it Cool .

Also fantastic when your at your local on a cold january night, I just click it on with the remote 1/2 hour before closing - my friends asked me what I was doing, I just nonchalently said, oh just putting the heater on - they are absolutely green with envy...

You can also activate it by a timer for whichever days of the week and time you are going to work or from work - and just forget about it. You can also use it when your in the car to keep warm even with the engine off - for those extended periods when the wife is sale shopping Shocked

I've got a Sept 06 TDV6 (56 plate) and it has the heater which works Ok via the screen and I can porgramme 2 sets of on/off times. I don't however have an associated keyfob item or button on my key. I seem to remember the remote being an optional accessory as mentioned earlier in this topic. Steve

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I thought it was better than starting a new one.

So the heater only works on the TD6, got it.
So on the V8 it does nothing more than ventilated the cabin, and is next to useless?

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.
