2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

Brake squeak when reversing

My 2011 TDV8 has developed a squeak from rear brakes when reversing. I suspected sticking rear callipers but have had them off for freeing off and greasing however the squeak is still there, so now I am thinking park brake. Has none else had this? 2011 Vogue TDV8 4.4

could be a bit of grit/stone between the backplate and disc... ... - .- -.

2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Baltic Blue

One of the retaining springs broke on my td6 Park brake and I only heard that when reversing, but I am not sure if it is different on the 2011., but definitely worth getting someone to listen while you reverse, at least to determine which side is squeaking.

But I guess I would hear a squeak going forward as well as back? 2011 Vogue TDV8 4.4

Not necessarily- my 2011 only made a noise in reverse when the pin snapped

Strip and clean the calipers

Failing that have the discs off and strip And clean the hand brake mechanism.

Together these should sort any problems. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
