2003 Vogue Stereo problem....

My stereo developed a problem today.........listening to the radio it just suddenly switched off - just the sound, the display works fine. I turned it off and on again and all ok for about a minute then the sound went off again. It keeps doing this now and also does it on CD........

Anyone have any ideas where to start with this problem, could it be the BM54?? Confused

Thanks FFRR Vogue 2003 4.4V8 - Epsom Green & Ivory

If it is the BM54, the upgrade from Baris may fix the issue as well.........give him a call ? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Its the blue plug on top of the right hand unit - it will be corroded. Mine did exactly the same so I took it off cleaned using degreaser on the plug and anp pins then a light film of WD40 and put it back together - now works fine Wink

I had a similar problem once - all exactly the same - and then the Sat-Nav crashed, rebooted and all was lovely again.

Nor mean but previous owner may have. I just wondered if anybody had ever had similar symptoms?

Very rarely the antenna amps go on the fritz too.

Looked for a quick diagram for the various antenna amps online - couldn't find one. If it is the FM antenna amp that's bad, the main amp (where diversity signals come together) is above and to the right (fwd) of the nav computer.

OK will have a look. It odd that it simply does not locate any stations?

Oh boy - here we go again!!

Today my stereo decided to keep playing the radio station it was on but the display of all stations, CD and tape has disappeared!! You can't change stations or get the CD/Tape to come up on screen - just blackness! (I have the MK4 DVD nav unit upgrade and the screen is set on splitscreen and Nav unit and nav screen dispaly works fine)...........you have to turn the stereo off and on again and the functions are there but disappear again soon after.

Does the BM54 control the FM, tape and CD functions or is there another 'box' that does this. I'm going to send the BM54 to Baris soon but wondered if it's that at fault or not?
