I'm inclined to disagree! Shocked

Mines less than a year old (58 plate) which now has 12k miles on it already. This one sounds like a new motor and at £24k less than it was with delivery mileage. If the clunk exists I'm sure it can easily be sorted. I'd go back, take it out again and be sure that the clunk is there and get it fixed along with a couple of grand lopped off the price.

FWIW, I don't believe the 2010 model is going to be as thick on the ground as some might imagine and with virtually zero discount on it, I don't see many 'young' TDV8s going for silly money as they will need to have been paid top book to get them back. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

If I wasn't being so particular about the spec of my next one it would be easier, for example they'd just got in a nice looking Buckingham blue, sand leather, privacy, SC grille and vents, but I don;t want the sand interior, had it been black I'd have gone for it. Discovery 4 HSE

I would agree about having another look. If the thump is still there, walk away as you will always be thinking about it.

If you do decide to go for it, it goes without saying - haggle Smile. There are some Vogue SE models in one of my other posts (in For Sale/Wanted) around the same age for similar money.

Adam

Retro fit Privacy glass I did

Start off with Film in the B pillars back then OEM side glass in the rear 1/4's & pattern tailgate glass

If you talk to Nick at Yeoville Land Rover he can supply part numbers and prices

Later on change the film however film looks very OK on the rear doors but rubbish on the 1/4's and tailgate because of the elements and edges

Ken, am I right in thinking that Factory PG is actually a black glass and not a normal glass with a tint film applied in some manner? Discovery 4 HSE

I have privacy windows and I don't like it (I feel like someone's else's driver - the kids love it though), but I can confirm that the glass is just darker, there is no film.

I'm the opposite, I prefer that feeling of not being visible to other road users, I like the privacy feeling. A FFRR with no privacy looks so exposed. Most people seem to hate Range Rover drivers (pure jealousy rather than enviro-maniacs) so I'd prefer them not to see who I am.

Plus, it's good for security, opportunistic scumbags can't see inside the car to see if its worth breaking into. My dad had a chainsaw nicked out of the back of his cos it was visible through normal glass, would never have happened if he'd had PG on that RR. Discovery 4 HSE

But the privacy is available for the rear windows only, the driver is still exposed and at least in my country it is forbidden to tint the front side windows and the windshield...

In the UK it's also ilegal to tint the front side windows beyond a certain percentage, and totally ilegal to tint the windscreen (No one over here does that, the Police would pull you over straight away, however you can get away with the front sides, you are unlucky if you get caught.

I had mine done on the Sport and this one, just to blend the back ones in more. Discovery 4 HSE
