Anyone got the roller blind/ dog guard fitted?

Looking to get one but need to know how it fits, I don't have the side clips in my car that it fits into, but some come with those.

They stopped fitting/supplying them for a few years and now they are back again, so, they should fit any MY car yes? Discovery 4 HSE

I mean one of these

it sits on the top of the boot parcel shelf (can be stand alone without parcel shelf) and you pull the mesh roller upwards and it clips into the headlining bracket.

Whats also cool is that it can also be mounted further forward when the rear seats are folded forwards, and then it clips into the headlining brackets behind the driver's seats. Discovery 4 HSE

isnt this typical I've wanted one for 2 years and I buy 2 of them on ebay on the same day!

PS, you can buy the side brackets for behind the rear seats from your dealer parts dept for about £18 each.

You dont need parts for the roof, as far as I know, all models have them as standard. Discovery 4 HSE

OK, WHAT AM I MISSING?

FFND (or anyone?), can you advise?

I bought one of the roller blinds on ebay and was lucky to get it for a good price and it all works fine and is in good order.

I ordered the 2 side mounts from my local dealer and picked them up today.

However, unless I am missing another part, I cant see how these go together and lock in? Question

Look at the picture below, this shows another one for sale as above in this thread: Note the two side mounts in particular.

Here's a photo of the brand new side mount and the roller blind together, looks good

Here's a picture of the two parts, apart, showing what looks like a hole in the mounting...Note the metal peg which sits in....nothing??

Here it is from another angle. Now, I don;t see how this is meant to stay together. In fact, it doesn't, that's the point, it just comes apart. Am I missing a part? You see the red/black button that supposedly releases the roller blind? Well, instead it just falls down inside the mounting. It clips onto and connects to nothing!! Censored

What puzzles me is what is supposed to go in the spot marked here on this photo with the arrow? To my mind, this is where there should be 'something' that clips the two pieces together.

Does anyone know what's missing? Shocked Big Cry

RRUK Does that help? I have another photo in my gallery that you can look at.

basically there is a black hard plastic area for the metal bit on the load net to lock in. Your pics dont seem to show this so it might be missing on yours?

Definitely helps, that's what I am missing. I bet Land Rover sell it in 2 parts each side! The parts guys at the dealer are pretty useless, it took me ten minutes of explaining the part till they could find it on their database, they should Censored know this stuff!

If I worked there, I'd know the bloody part numbers off by heart!

I'm going to print this picture off and show them.

I've taken a print of the photo, I'm off to the dealer later hopefully to shown them the problem.

I'm sort of wishing I had just bought the simple mesh dog guard at £60 now..... Big Cry Plus it weighs about 25 kilos less. Discovery 4 HSE

OK, been to the Dealer. There is definitely parts missing. Big Cry

Seems despite the fact that the clip that is missing serves no other purpose anywhere else in the vehicle, it is sold seperately, I now have 4 more parts on order plus fixings in order to get this damned roller blind in! I should have just bought the dog gaurd, it would have been less than half the cost.

Weird how when you NEED a seperate part such as the plastic clip in the rear light unit that snaps when you remove the light, they WON'T sell that one on its own, instead you have to spend hundreds of pounds on a complete light unit!
