Still want to know what those things are on the back of the front seats below the RSE screens.

Seems like a resounding thumbs-up for the new styling on here then ...

Would be interesting to know what the Russian and Chinese forums make of it; apparently there are UK dealers who won't be able to get you one until 2014 if all their deposits turn into real orders.

Think they will give that L405 a facelift within the first two years if they don't get the expected sales Whistle

I can see what your saying Trommel but if we make something for their markets they're still gona like it? Don't they like our stuff because it's stylish (for Europeans that is) with a brand name attached to it? I'm not saying that the FFRR wasn't due for a small change but if that is it...so far lots of disappointment, sorry. Maybe I'm getting older Confused

Completely agree.

It's far easier to ruin a brand than build one. I don't like the direction it's going, and, as you say, go too far and you lose what made it desirable in the first place.

The proportions of the new car seem wrong.

If you had a template for Range Rovers like they use on NASCAR to measure profiles, wings etc.., all the previous Ranges would fit in it, be it a L322, a P38 or a Classic. Somehow they all have the same relationship of size size/bonnet/height/doors size/position/width/hood-passenger area/etc...

Seeing these new pics, mainly the rear 3/4 view, the proportions are all wrong. The car is too long, or two low, the rear door is too big, the roof slopes too much, or the side waistline is raked too much, there is some kind of bump below the rear window. Don't know what it is, but just doesn't look right.

Remember when Jaguar cured the remaining defect of the old Xj's, which was headroom. They made the car look the same, but with a higher roof. It lost that ''low slung'' look and they sold almost zero of them.

So it seems that THE Range Rover is dead. We're witnessing the birth of the ''Range Rover car manufacturer''

There's a couple of decent pictures in this mornings Sunday Times - looks a lot like the 2012 with a more sloping front and some up to date looking lights. There is a hint that Top Gear have tested it and said it's the best diesel car in the world - not that I can stand that braying oaf Clarkson myself but plenty like him and seem to respect his opinion.

My prediction - it will sell better than the outgoing model would against some very stiff new competition Very Happy Geoff
