United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover HSE Td6 Epsom Green

Hi Steve
First off get the vehicle in a state where you can work on it without disturbing 'sleep' mode. So bonnet, doors, tailgates and cubby box all open but latched to fool vehicle. I would then do 2 tests one lock the car with the remote and check drain after 16 - 20 mins and then do same again but just lock it with the key in the door. The difference should only be the volumemetrics. You are going to have to have this switched off to do your testing or you could cover them up - up to you. I prefer to do it the way I was shown! You may want someone to check to readings for you whilst you've got your head buried behind the glovebox or in the boot. I would remove each fuse in order and refit it and then note down which make a difference. Again this is how I was shown I find it easier to check each fuse in order then going back and forth etc. Let me know how you get on.
Best of luck,
Brian

I just a slim screwdriver in the latches to put them in the latched position. Then you can just pulled the screwdriver back out to unlatch them just open the handle - sometimes you may have to apply abit of pressure on the claw mechanism if it's abit stiff. In theory locking the vehicle with the key disables the volumetrics eg: leaving the dog in the car. By doing both locking tests it allows you to elimate ( or identify )the volumetrics quickly.

Fuse 52 serves the HEVAC ecu which also controls the heated seats.
If you pull out fuse 12 as well as fuse 52 it will isolate the heated seats and leave only the ac / heating controls.
This should indicate where the current leak is ie seats or ac controls.
It's possible the new FSR is leaking current, I don't think they are particularly well made from new hence all the problems.

Not so much faulty but I don't think the manufacturing quality is particularly high.
I have a suspicion that if you checked a batch of new FSR's a good proportion would leak current to some degree. Some would be better than others.
I know when I changed mine due to current leakage the new unit still leaked current albeit to a far lesser degree than the unit it replaced which I accepted as being "good enough".
I still think they are a unit that could be significantly improved at manufacture.
Hence them routinely failing after a few years even though the design has been changed at least once.
They get very hot in use particularly in hot weather which I assume adds to the failure problem.
I would still carry out the Fuse 12 check to clarify things.

hi guys

I’ve had a battery drain for months every 2 days battery is flat Censored Censored Censored

so I check yesterday and when the car went to sleep it was drawing 0.586 amps Big Cry

so I started pulling fuse after fuse to i pulled the stereo fuse.

straight away it dropped to 0.060 i carried on pulling all the fuses but it never went any lower then that

it was the satnav unit not turning off so I’ve left that out now as its Censored anyway

is 0.060 amps good enough or does it need to be lower

I’ve got the big 110amp bosh battery
