Was in the stealers at the weekend and they said they'll be getting their display model in next year but are off to the Atlas mountains in Jan to test it out. Not surprisingly they were very excited! Lloyd Barnes

Went to the presentation of the L405 in Frankfurt yesterday.

I liked it better live than in pics. And a couple of short observations (w/o having driven): the level of comfort is up from the L322 - not much but it is; many, many toys - some just waiting to break (the electrically unfolding trailer hitch already stopped working on one of the 2 cars... Rolling Eyes ); despite the emphasis on off-road, there are numerous detractions - the doors go all the way to the bottom of the car - sills are enclosed. Wonderful for not getting mud on your freshly pressed expedition trousers but if you hit a rock, you replace a door. Shocked

That said... I see one in my future Cool

Back from Paris motorshow - Thumbs Up

What can i say it's in the most a stunning car Smile Bow down

The inside of the car is just WOW, leather is the best i have seen up there with Bentley without a doubt, finish is outstanding in the whole cabin, current car is good but this takes it to a new level. Lack of buttons etc is a little odd but screen control looks good and many things i was told will be on the speak what you see system which was not running on the pre-production car , but means you will be able to say commands as in " climate seats" cool etc etc. The massive hi-fi was fitted in the car , spoils interior with just to many speakers on show.
Exterior car still has loads of presence , amazingly seemed to look smaller than current car but of course is slightly bigger.

Rear view Smile
Frontal view Smile
Side and side corner view Smile

A couple of things that let it down but i think can be sorted.

1/ Plastic trim in grey under bumpers and door sills , nasty cheap plastic in a crap colour , will need painting out IMO Sad
2/ The side trim and bumper trim looks fine on a lighter coloured car not so clever on a dark car , the barolo black car looked stunning on the stand but no cars there with dark atlas trim to compare the darker finish.

3/ The autobiograhy on display , stunning inside seen a new finish called Pin Stripe for the wood looks fantastic IMO then told NA until QTR 3 next year Sad

Big thanks to Stratstone and Land Rover - Jaguar for the VIP treatment and attention given in the VIP lounge made the day.

Off Topic :- of course had to spend time with the new F-Type OMG what a car puts the Vantage to shame , looks like bank balance taking another hit LOL Far to many gone...

I thought the car was Barossa ? Barola is black with a red fleck, the car on the stand had more of a red base, more burgundy.

Anyone seen Luxor yet ? It seems that Luxor is the colour used in a lot of their photo shoots, I like the look of the car with black roof and luxor going through the dunes. However, still waiting to see it, as I do not like gold as such. But if I want an ivory interior with black, plus a black roof (want to make it look more contemporary) there are few light colours to choose from. Want to avoid an all black car again.
