New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

Today I did another "test", I did a "sharp" turn but not the "spirited" driving and yes, the engine revs started fluctuating and the transmission fault came up.

So my current thoughts are, a lot of dirt/water in the fuel tank that gets sucked into the fuel injection system, causing the engine to run crappy and the gearbox ECU getting values that vary too much, causing it to lose the plot Smile

I will have the tank cleaned as soon as I can. Does anyone know how to get access ?? I assume remove the backseat and there it is ????? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Have you got RAVE?

It's a few hours work, I think someone once documented the changing of the in tank fuel pump.

Hi RRUK, I just followed poor Stan's advice and used that wonderful search function. And I found the threads on how to do it. The more I think about the problem and also reading other threads, the more I believe it is pure crap/water in the tank.

I will probably be travelling in a few weeks time and then the mechanics can clean the tank. I just want to make sure they have the write-up so they don't damage anything Smile

Pity there is no easy way of doing it Sad

To clarify, our most unreliable Landcruiser had a lot of crap in the tank and rust completely blocked the filter and pump. This is most likely due to the practice of mixing water into the petrol that allows people to increase their profit margins up. On our vessels we have fuel testing kits specifically for these practices. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
