Auxiliary Heating

Evening all

I'm looking for an 02/03 Vogue to use as a winter car and have seen some advertised as having auxiliary heating. I assume this is a diesel powered heater that cn be set to come on prior to using the car? Do all vogues have this or was it an optional extra?

Many thanks

I believe all diesels have it.

The optional bit is whether you can activate it with a remote fob...... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I have an 03 td6 hse, when I unlock the the car and open the door it sounds like a boiler ignites in the engine bay and continues for about 15 minutes - is this the aux heater?

No, that is the ECU fan in the engine bay wakening up, perfectly normal

So, what should I be looking for on the fob to identify whether it has aux heating?

At least on the earlier cars, all diesels had it, but being able to turn it on and off from a distance with the remote, was optional. Irrespective of trim level. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Exactly. All diesels have the aux heater to aid in heating the large interior on very cold days - diesels are just too efficient and don't put out as much waste heat Razz

To have the so called Park Heat function, it needs to have been ordered that way upon purchase or it can be activated by an appropriate diagnostic tool. The Hawkey will not do this. Whistle

so that means that you can programme for it to come on automatically? if you do that will it come on every day on its own even when you arent in it? or does it need the key to be in the ignition for it to work & am guessing below certain temperature?

I'm slightly unsure myself on this bit. I thought it came on to heat the interior up provided its set on the aux heating thing. Not sure if it only comes on once and you have to reprogram it to come on again the next day.

This is without you in it - car all locked up...........

Then I've read it only comes on below a certain temperature - or is that a different feature when its used to help the engine warm up ?

Do you have 2 options in the menu, one for Aux Ventilation, and one for Aux Heating ?

Think I tried it last year and nothing warmed up on mine, but then sometimes when the car is running and its cold, I can hear the FBH running......

Will have to have another look........
