MPG

Appologies as I am sure this has been asked before however, I canny find what I am looking for.

I have always been facinated by MPG in all of my cars, to a fault at times.

Anyways, my TD 6 with a few tweeks returns aboot 29 on a trip and low 20's roon town.
Back and forth to workies is some 2 miles so low 20's is rather good.

(I know one disnae buy an RR for economy)

Did a charity rally last year covering some3600mls up and doon mountains and up to 110mph in Germany and she returned 29.7 mpg.
Which I thought was rather good.
Last weekend I covered 250mls motorway and some 50mls off roading in high range and it returned 25mpg.

Happy Bill

Are these the brimmed figures or the dash display? My dash display is about 3mpg optimistic -but then I have a power booster box.

My true figures are: -

Commuting (A roads + motorway - Swiss motorways are 75mph) = 27.5 mpg
This dips around town, but I've not done brimmed it.
Towing an large empty trailer on a run (60mph) = 25mpg
Towing a large very full trailer on a run (50mph) = 20mpg

Overall, can't complain. I don't think the 3.6 TDV8 is any better, but the 4.4 probably is. Both are much faster and sound much nicer.

Aye brim to brim.
Ive had it remapped but also tried the BlueChip box.
The power was good with the box but MPG was down but it did sound better, however, not as good as the petrols

So, my figuars are aboot the norm then?
Good show

I have a spreadsheet. These are the figures. The very low ones are during a trip to the UK with the trailer - came back with it fully loaded.

Date Miles Gallons MPG Indicated MPG
29-Dec-2012 486.53 17.89 27.20
02-Jan-2013 429.12 17.00 25.25
30-Jan-2013 1390.38 51.56 26.97
09-Feb-2013 484.30 18.49 26.19 29.4
10-Feb-2013 472.30 18.68 25.29 28.2
13-Feb-2013 565.76 24.87 22.74 24.7
14-Feb-2013 269.55 10.91 24.71 26.6
15-Feb-2013 239.85 12.01 19.97 22
16-Feb-2013 379.84 18.84 20.16 22.2
17-Feb-2013 418.99 19.98 20.98 23.3
28-Feb-2013 555.01 21.61 25.69 27.9
19-Mar-2013 547.61 19.92 27.49 30.3
03-Apr-2013 625.10 22.89 27.30 30

Makes me look like a big MPG nerd, but I just put the numbers from the receipts in a spreadsheet. I do this normally for both my cars and my motorcycles.

2010 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Cairns Blue

Since having my rangey for the last 4 weeks I have fuelled her twice and 1st tank was 26.4mpgand second tank 27.8. Not bad I think. Interestingly too that is better than the obc states. This current tank is indicating 29.1mpg with more motorway miles this time, see what I get. Could be close to 600 miles per tank
