Awning purchased

As the tin tent is sat on a seasonal pitch, I thought I'd double the space and buy an awning. Its a seasonal awning too, so I can leave it up.

Having never put one up, I'll no doubt still be there in the dark on Friday trying to work out where everything goes!

I suggest you do what my father in law always does... Unpack and try to put it together... After a couple of hours being really frustrated and upset and keeping up the neighbors, let the SWMBO read you the instruction manual and get it set up in 5 minutes... Cool

Good luck en enjoy! Thumbs Up Mike.

Park the FFRR in front with the headlights on, you should have enough light for SWMBO to start reading it from the beginning Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I've always considered an awning to be a divorce in a bag Shocked Evil or Very Mad The reason women's minds are cleaner than a mans mind is that women change their minds more often!

Nothing surer to start an argument than trying to put up an awning.

Took about six weeks from order to delivery of our bradcot awning. Gone

Are they good quality though? I've seen one in a showroom but that's about it.

There is a knack to it,

Having put one up a few times (read hundreds) i can recommend labelling the poles with coloured insulation tape.

1.Feed the awning onto the rail
2. attach the pole brackets to the awning tape
3. start with the middle poles and work out towards the edges.

peg it down.

Simples.......ish. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

As a motorhomer we often marvel at our neighbours taking half the day putting up their awnings and a whole day cleaning and putting them away.

Only 30 seconds with the wind-out.... Whistle Laughing

Got it down to about 20 mins to put it up now.

But as said I can fully recommend wrapping coloured tape round the poles to aid putting up......

less swearing then when you put the pole in the wrong hole.......... Whistle There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Well we got it up on Friday. Can't say I'm impressed with it. The instructions looked like a 10yr old had drawn the pics and weren't very informative.
When it was finally up, I noticed a small hole in the front across the roofline. Then another. I counted Five in total. I'm not how they got there but under each one is a small white paint mark as though its been seen and marked by someone. The holes are frayed and I assume will only get worse.
There is a big footprint on one of the plastic windows too.

On the phone to Bradcot tomorrow

Thats not great news. Hope you get it sorted.

I have a new awning too from dorema and one of the zips is a bit dicey. Going to see if it eases up but otherwise it will be going back for fixing. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Here's an awning tip I was once told... If you buy a can of mr sheen, one that says wax in it, spray it into the awning channel and the awning pulls round so easily. It really does make a difference. Previously..
