If you look at the bonnet hinges, there is a clip on each side with a bent out tab. These tabs lock the bonnet into the first opening position. If you bend the tabs out, the bonnet can rise to the near-vertical access mode.

And you need to pop out the two hydraulic struts ! .

I use a short piece of cord to tie up one of the struts for when you're lowering the bonnet back down, it saves it digging in if you're doing it on your own i.e. you can't be at both sides at once ..just a thought! ...Always time for a brew !!
