United Kingdom 2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

been out investigating again,

The Mic plug in the overhead cubby has three wires - two black (one slightly thicker than the other) and one yellow

I foud another single pinned plug under the cupholder in the centre console but these single pin plugs all seem to be yellow/white wires

the 5 Pin in the rear has a mix of grey, white red and black wires

none of the plugs seem to correspond to each other Censored

I cant find the plug in the Bimmernav photos - it is shown in the same place as my single pin plugs are..

The loom from the overhead mic must go somewhere Question
I know i could route a new loom up through the headlining but it seems a lot of work and pointless if the wiring is already there- i may remove more of the centre console and have a good root around the numerous looms under there and get back to you all Crying or Very sad 2003 Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

Have you dowloaded RAVE from the link in the Wiki section ?

It details all the cables, colours, pins etc, as well as all the owners and workshop repair procedures and specs.

You can then see what colour the wires are at the other end. Don't think they just come all the way without a join.

Could be wrong.......... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

the mic plug is under the centre console very deep down, i had to take the console out on mine to find it. its under the heater ducting pipe near the passenger seat at the rear, the wires will match exactly when you find it to the roof plug.

Hi there, sorry to come in at the end but ccfj1 mentioned about the mic cable. Are these freely available on the market or are they bespoke? Please could someone point me in the right direction as I have all the other components except the cable.
Many thanks.

The mic lead in the pic (that I posted) was bespoke. Not sure if its available form either Rover or BMW.

It should still work if you run the connections as below ;

Do you still produce them at all ccfj1? Sorry to be cheeky? Or if not where I could get the connectors from?
Many thanks.

The mic lead?? it will depend on what you have mate, how will you be putting the mic inputs into the 54 pin plug?

Hi ccfj1,
I have a bmw bluetooth wiring loom and only require the mic extension to get through to either the centre console where the plug is or directly to the overhead console where the mic is situated. I would rather not put the wiring loom through the car (mainly because of the tacky outer tape and I can also leave the pairing component in the back too).
Many thanks.

So the BT loom that you have has the mic input plug then?

Do you know that the centre console has the mic plug in it ?

The reason I ask is that the distance between the console and boot is shorter than the distance between the boot and the roof mic location, so you need to know which you need.

From memory the mic loom in the pic (i posted), was 5m as it was going to the roof. also the bt loom I made had the option of the mic input into the bt ulf plug, (the one you have may or may not have this).

Hi ccfj1,
Yes the loom does have the mic connector (just I can't feed it through to the centre console) and the car definitely has the connector both in the centre console and at the other end of the cable in the roof. I just need to get the connector to feed through the car to the centre console. I literally have everything else.
Cheers.
