"Does the PDC light come on above the PDC switch when the beeps occur?"

No, tried pressing the switch before, during and after the beeps, no joy.
The quest contiinues.

What sort of beep is it? One that drives me nuts is the max speed warning that one of my kids keeps setting grrrrrr "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

It is the same tone as the front parking sensors, but three beeps, slight pause, three beeps etc. mostly carries on until I restart, sometimes goes away by itself.

I believe the PDC unit is in the boot behind the fuse box on the right hand side ?
I saw this on You Tube referring to Parking Sensor issues.

Yea its behind the fuse box but you should be able to disconnect the cables without taking the fuse box out - I did whilst diagnosing a PDC fault.

I finally took the FF into Guy Salmon at Thames Ditton to see if they could cure the mystery beeping.
They said "probably chafed wiring from the front parking sensors" "we do them a lot". Bumper off, move the wiring. £99 for an hour.
They put the machine on it and it didn't show any faults and of course it was in beep free mode !!
They reckon the parking sensors are switched off over 20mph , so it couldn't be parking sensors.
So I took the car .....and half way home guess what beep beep beep !!

They also said there was a small switch chrome toggle in the drivers footwell, probably for an aftermarket gizmo ?
I switched it when the beeping started''''beep gone !! Bow down

So, Guy Salmon - free health check, free valet and a free bottle of Guy Salmon water.
What a bargain. Very Happy

'smartnav'....... its a feature by trafficmaster....you subscribe and if you need directions or help when broken down they help you via this system..

have a look by the brake/accelerator pedals and you should have a speaker mounted there ..

or, it might not be this .. Laughing ... - .- -.

Stan, you are absolutely right Very Happy there is a speaker by the pedals.
The switch is mounted on the trim on the left of the footwell and is easily knocked by my size 10's.
That may explain why it was intermittent.
When the weather improves I will remove the switch and tape up the wiring.
Thanks, I can take out the earplugs now.
