Webasto Heater

Wrong time of year I know but while the weather is good I thought I'd try and get my aux heater working, ready for the winter - IIDTool reports 'Glow Pin/Flame Sensor Short To Ground' - I'm aware this could either be the glow pin needs cleaning or the ECU needs replacing.

Few questions tho, if anyone could kindly help would be much appreciated

1)If I remove the unit and link the inlet/outlet pipes with a spigot & jubilee clips would this be ok to drive until the unit is repaired?

2)Unit is obviously 'Webasto' made but does anyone know what model it is? Microcat reports a LR part number of 'jec000290' but I need to know the Webasto model number for either ordering a replacement glow pin or a breaker unit for ECU swap.

3)If all else fails does anyone know of a good Webasto service agent that could repair unit for me?

Thanks.

I spoke to these guys last year when I had a problem with mine, they repair Webasto heaters. You have to take or send the unit in (they won't remove it from the car). Very helpful on the phone.:

Steve from GAP Diagnostic is very knowledgeable about the FBH by the way.

I'm sure a PM to him would yield some info. Graham
