Received a note from dealer concerning recall for 2010 modell, so today they changed battery and updated software concerning air condition, phone and some other stuff. Shocked Just bought it a couple of days ago... While I was waiting I received infos about new 4.4 TDV8 due in September:

10.2 l/100 km
8 gears

That Indian link has got the engine spec wrong.

Torque is massive at over 700 nm @ 2000

Not sure about the 8 gears though as I have heard the 7 gear BMW's are always changing up and down trying to find the best gear?

JJ mentions September which is only 6 oddish months away, bet there will also be a waiting list and LR will match production to demand to keep pricing up.

Thinking about it I bet a load of prospective purchasers will just hang on for the new RR - too much going on at the moment with the new 2010 just being out, then a new engine in sept, then a totally new model not far off - unless you change your car every 12 - 18 months why bother...

I personally wouldn't want to buy a new one in September to just get a slightly bigger engine when there is a new model being forcast by some for next year.

I think we're 2 yrs off the new shape FFRR coming to light yet.

You can bet though it will have LED lighting, split screen nav/TV, all round camera system and probably driver aids like self parking (ala Lexus) and better adaptive cruise type options.

Current cars always show the way for new bits in the new models to come

RR Classic LSE = P38/L322 extended wheelbase and air suspension for example. Discovery 4 HSE

That's full three year warranty away. If I was in the market for a 2010 I would try to pre-order a 4.4 TDV8 at the earliest opportunity....

Think you could be right Adam, mind you it took LR 20 years to almost perfect the air suspension - it was blooming useless in the Classic and the P38 wasn't that reliable either
