Update - installed on my RR

So my only comment is I cannot tilt the camera high enough to not see the rear window. Otherwise I love it. 2008 HSE B. Grey

Some questions on this...

Has anyone tried this themselves? Level of difficulty? My 2006 camera has completely failed, will show a picture every now and then. Would love to do this mod but before I spend the money I want to make sure I know what I'm doing. In reading the thread it seems pretty straight forward but a few questions:

When referring to housing here, I assume you mean the housing on the tailgate door that the camera fits into? so you need to shave the 2010 camera down to fit in?

Once shaved down, how does the camera stay in place? Is it screwed in? Does it click lock?

The white connector needs to be broken down to fit. After break down I assume the wiring is exposed out of pattern, how do you connect to the camera without the connector in place and how do you keep the connection without the connector?

I'm very interested in doing this, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance all!

I have done this twice on my last two FF's... The first time I simply took some measurements at the main agents as to where the camera was on a 2010 car and drilled a new hole to mount the new camera in the same position as the 2010 car... Simply got some thick black plastic tape and covered the one hole over... Negating any need to shave anything!
The second time I purchased a second hand 2010 roof spoiler off eBay for £10 and simply bolted that on and did the relevant wiring mods... Thumbs Up

How do you run the wiring? Where does the other end plug into?

If I decided to go kadas's route and take the plug connector apart to fit the wiring through the existing hole, how do you then make the connection to the camera? Is there a way to take the connector off without breaking it and reattach it after the wiring has been run through the existing hole?

I'm trying to get this done without drilling additional holes and patching old ones, also would like to keep from having to buy additional parts as this means more removal and replacement. I'm somewhat mechanically inclined but I'm not certain to which degree I don't want to bite off more than I can chew here.

You need the new wire plug (part# is on page 1) the instructions are all on the 1st page. just read my posts. It was a while ago so I am not sure what went where thinking back. but it is a plug and play with a little shaving down of the new camera housing and then you need to cut open the new wire plug.
