Well there are a couple of posts on here where members that have bought non oem ones have had nothing but grief with ill fitting screw holes being out of alignment

i figured that may be a problem but surely some non-oem fit properly.. ... - .- -.

Mine fitted OK although I've now removed them for off clearance when roading/green laning.
The spacing of the steps away from the sill had to be altered with supplied washers in the kit to get a nice flush finish but other than that and the awkwardness of fitting the mudflaps to the metal bracket it went OK (same fitting as factory I believe).
I got mine from PowerfulUK.

i'm thinking steps to make access easier [wifes idea] but it seems i wil have to drill holes in the lower panel for the mudflap to screw into and i'm not keen to do that.. ... - .- -.

I drilled mine and regret it as I now quite like the flap less look but leaving them on due to holes.

I have seen some of those panels complete with side step mudflaps on the bay so if you could get two same colour you could swap them and keep non drilled versions if you ever remove steps Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

I'm having mudflaps fitted (as usual) this week, as I can't bare the thought of all that road grit, salt, spray etc flying off the tyres and hitting paintwork, why would you want that to happen?!!  Discovery 4 HSE

I also regret putting the steps on now as I have the same problem after removing, holes left in the lower trim panel (same fitments as factory items). I put on factory style mud flaps to hide them. Annoyingly I put the steps on so my elderly parents could get inside easier, although they steadfastly always decided not to use them and struggle straight in!

Just as a thought, you can always recalibrate Access Mode to be a bit lower? Something I've not got around to doing but I've recalibrated Off Road mode another 1.5 inches higher for off roading duties.

the wife thinks side steps will help protect the doors from dings in car parks etc ... - .- -.
