2011MY front pads

Tried to replace the front pads today. Held by two retaining pins and a pinch bolt.

The pins have (had) a pointed end which I have managed to flatten - whilst bending my pin drift but no movement from them.

How much force do you need to use? And do you need an afternoon of hammering to get them out usually?

They are different to the pre 10MY tdv8 brembos.

Thinking of taking the car down to the Indy to get them to do it....shouldn't be that long a job for them.

Cheers,

G

Mikey,

Sounds a plan Thumbs Up

Just concerned I had managed to flatten the points without moving them - so I thought I had been hitting them hard enough if i was deforming them.

I just didn't fancy having a broken caliper and no car.

Cheers,

G

It must just be me that's cr Censored p.

Can't get them to budge. I know the pre 2010 ones are easy but these are in tight.

Some posts on other sites saying they needed to cut them to get them out! Shocked

Left them soaking in WD40. Will see what tomorrow brings...

Indy took 1.5 hrs to do them. They had to use the acetylene torch to heat them and then hammer them out.

It was the second set they have done on a 4.4TDV8's and they had to do the same for them. So, if you got a 4.4TDV8 maybe think twice before trying it yourself.

If I was closer I would have dropped it off to Mikey to try his magic on them!

Anyway, new pads all round and hopefully should be good for another 30k Thumbs Up

Aye, the factory obviously forgot to do that.

Was still on original pads.

Remember speaking to the guys at Greenbank 4x4 and they said that due to "Health and Safety" reasons, Landrover are not allowed to use copper slip or similar on the factory line!!! Shocked Shocked

Sounds a good plan! But nowadays surely the tolerance in these things are so smalll that a bit of copper ease won't make the assembly fall
