Memory slowly returning, I got the TRANS FAILSAFE messages which caused the similar symptoms of only accelerating to a certain point etc. but as stated this was related to the gear lever not quite being in the right place. Worth checking all is well in that area. Thumbs Up .

Thanks again Joe, I'm sure with the epic forum spirit and millions of pounds my FFRR will soon be capable of speeds greater than 50mph.... Either that or I will turn it into modern art Smile

Thought I'd update this thread for future reference. Decided to drive the car to the garage today after its been sat on the drive for the best part of two weeks. 5 mins down the road, complete engine power loss and ground to a halt displaying "fuel injection failure". Nightmare!

A recovery truck completed my journey to my friends garage (R-TEK MOTORSPORT, Liverpool) where his Snap On Ethos diagnosed only 1 bar of fuel pressure. A few checks confirmed the secondary fuel pump was the cause, a local supplier had a OEM/Bosch pump in stock and it was delivered within the hour, fitted and tested with no further faults. Everything is back to normal and I have my RR back Smile

The bill wasn't that shocking including recovery helped by the fact it was the cheapest of all the possible failed components.

Thumbs Up

Glad to hear you got it all sorted SteveyD. And your right about it being the cheapest thing to go wrong. I remember the high pressure fuel pump on my TD6 going faulty, well actually it was starting to leak and that part alone was around £450.

Funny thing with my TD6 was I had both the high pressure fuel pump and the in tank fuel pumps fail during the 6 years I owned the car but the secondary fuel pump never played up. Just my luck I had the 2 more expensive and more labour intensive parts to replace fail.

Cheers Prop. Sod's law that both your pumps would fail! That's my first major issue in almost a year of ownership so watch this space, things come in 3's after all Wink

Well in my 6 years the TD6 only needed the fuel pumps as mentioned earlier, rear wiper motor and one rear caliper. All the other parts were consumables like discs and some front suspension links/arms that were cheap as chips. Other than that the car ran sweet for me. I had it from approx 50k miles to 120k miles before I decided to get the TDV8. Now I just hope that the TDV8 is as good long term as the TD6 was.
