" air sus inactive after brake change "

hi everyone,
newbie on here but have been reading lots of posts and taking in as much info as possible so slowly getting there,i have a great understanding of the motor mechanic world but i'm stuck on a particular issue on my 2005 td6,im hoping someone on here has experienced this issue and can throw me a help rope..
i recently changed my front brake disc and pads on my TD6,i used a hydraulic jack and and axle stand whilst carrying out the work and need to mention that prior to changing the pads i read on here that in order to do such work, a door needs to be left open to put the air suspension in a safe mode, which i done, but however after all was done and finished i now have " air sus inactive " on the main screen..the level selector next to the analogue clock is not lighting up,i have read many post on here and tried most of the suggestion..ive done the disconnect the battery, didn't work...done disconnect and touch the leads together to clear the e.c.u..it didn't work..ive checked fuses front and back and iv'e also checked the relay in the back and all seems well..has any one got any ideas of what i could have done to stop the everyday working of the air suspension and how i go about fixing it,,could i have put it in a SAFE mode and need to reactive it? if so does anyone know how to reactive it..long read but i needed to put out as much info as possible,so i don't get any replies that iv'e already tried...thank you all.. Bow down

You need to turn the steering from full lock to full lock at least once to reset it. Thumbs Up

Have you checked the height sensors in the wheel arches?

Get the codes read as this should identify the problem including the sensors. Thumbs Up

hi everyone, further more to the ongoing saga,i got home this after noon and turned the steering wheel full lock one way and then other so i had a good view of the level sensor,i had a little prod to see if anything was loose or broken but both are attached to the lower suspension arm and both have the electrical connector connected to them..in regards to the codes that would enable me to find the problem how do i get them to come up up as i don't have a iid tool...any suggestions anyone..

Idea might try jacking up the vogue one side at a time again and hopefully the weight of the wheel assembly will drop the front suspension and reactivate it,,my last hope...

RSW All Comms, Hawkeye, Faultmate, Solus, TESTBOOK or an IIDTool Twisted Evil

You will need a reader that can identify and clear the specific LR codes on your FFRR.

Your symptoms (no lights on EAS dash) indicate a hard fault - this needs to be cleared by a diagnostic tool as above.

If you are serious about doing your own work on the beast, and keeping it for a bit, get a proper diagnostic tool, it will save you money in the long run - LR dealer likely to charge between £90 and £120 just to have the car in and read the codes. Most indies will look for @ £50 Thumbs Up .

Any half/decent code reader that supports BMW group will do

I use IDS\T4 on daily basic , but have cheap (inexpensive Rolling with laughter ) hand held muliti franchise reader
and if need just quick reset go to BMW-X5 and off i go
(have to say here it supports single axle air suspension in x5 b-mer
so actual code reading of that tool can be less accurate)
Thumbs Up
