L322 2003 TD6 AUTO Vogue Engine cuts out

Here is the story so far..
Bought ths car in London, we live in somerset. Test drove around London fine. On the way home travelling down motorway at 70mph after about 45 mins + the car just lost all power and died, Lights still worked. pulled up on hard shoulder tried restart it turned over but wouldn't start. got out of car locked car opened car tried to start nothing.. a few mins later started car and carried on the journey 30 mins later same thing happened. This happened 4 times in total. The next day assuming it was fuel related went to local garage and had them fit new fuel filter and under tank low pressure pump. All seemed fine loads of short around town trips.
Then last week after a journey of some 45 mins the same thing happened again, the wife was driving and I wasn't around she tried hard to restart it and flattened the battery trying. Someone came with a jump pack but no joy....as the car was only 1 mile from the garage got a recovery guy to tow it on a straight bar to garage.
At garage put on diagnostics and the following faults occurred. 7 faults on diagnostics
,
(1) 13573 - Glow Duration Control Unit Faulty...
(2) 7680 - CAN Messages
(3) 4704 - PRE Feed Pressure Below Operating Pressure
(4) 2550 - Unknown rail pressure ??
(5) 1280 - Speed Signal CAN Fault
(6) 4688 - Electric Fuel Pump Open Circuit
(7) 13589 - A/C Compressor Shut Off Open Circuit.

The garage took the fuel pipe off at the fuel filter and fuel pumped out all over the windscreen so sort of took out the Low pressure fuel pump ideas.

The garage cleared all the fault codes, turned the key and it started.

Its been running locally ever since. The only fault code now is Glow plug relay fault..... ALTHOUGH I don't see how that could cause car to cut out when running.

I have tried to download RAVE for L322 without any joy to seek wiring diagrams to check this out.

Anyone have any knowledge of this fault or any constructive advice.....I will have to buy a rave CD from fleabay I reckon.

look forward to your help as this is doing my head in.

Fuse box looks fine, no sign of corrosion. New L322 Owner -

Sounds like a sensor fault, possibly the rail pressure sensor. Or something like that, and it maybe only throws a wobbler when it gets warm. The fact it runs fine for a while would suggest the mechanicals are ok.

We chased a sensor fault round our master van for ages before we got our friendly plant repair man to plug in his snap on diagnostics, we then watched the live data and you could see the sensor signal dropping in and out, our local garage was clueless as to the problem, wasnt logging a fault either.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

If you can get it on a test when it first cuts out it will probs tell you it's crank shaft or camshaft sensor had a few cars do it but only when warm once it's cooled down they usly start

Thats the million dollar question, and may be trixy to find out if there are no fault codes showing. Do you have a good indy locally?

There are better qualified people to comment than me on here, but sounds like a fuelling problem, as you seem to have good fuel flow, then that possibly brings it to the engine bay rather than the rear end.

My idea is the common rail pressure sensor. Fairly cheap part and there are a few second hand ones out there. Could be wrong though. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Ruled out crankshaft sensor because I thought if it was that then it wouldn't restart and surely that would come up as a crankshaft sensor fault as its a pretty important sensor. New L322 Owner -

surely common rail pressure sensor is high pressure sensor..and the fault codes were all low pressure faults. New L322 Owner -
