Message: "CHECK SIDELIGHT" ?

Comes up on start up, turn on sidelights, get out and check, all working.

I have LED sidelights up front, been there for years, never given a problem before.

On ignition off get "FRONT SIDELIGHT"

Has one or both of my LEDs had its day ? .

those errors normally come up when theres a faulty bulb or a non-canbus bulb fitted..i suspect that one or both bulbs have burnt out their canbus circuit....or the bulb just needs re-seating. ... - .- -.

Had a chance to have a look. It was both LEDs, whether they have both gone at once, or it took both to trigger the fault, but see from the picture where the problem was:

Useful to know that even though this had happened they still worked as lights, even though they were throwing an error.

Anyhow, in the market for some new ones, what is the preferred LED sidelight these days? Did a search, bought some of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-NO-ERROR-FRE...219579323? .

Cheap Chinese crap! Let this be a lesson to you all as to how they can melt when they use sub standard electronics... Sorry Joe90 to cut accross your thread but have seen a few interior bulbs do this lately and would hate for one of our members FF's to go up in flames!

i've brought a fair amount of leds/smds and nearly all get dry joints within months of use, but a quick dabble with a soldering iron and they work ok again... ... - .- -.

The bulbs I used are very bright, almost brighter than the H7s in my foglight DRLs, don't give a canbus message, but blink every 20 seconds or so (this must be the canbus test) .

thats when the ecu checks to see if the bulb is ok..cold on start up and hot whilst engine running..
so if you have non-canbus bulbs it'll throw up an error. ... - .- -.
