Australia 2002 Range Rover HSE Td6 Zambezi Silver
Fuel Pump & Level Sender assembly WFX000160G

Hi lads & ladies does anybody know if a BMW diesel fuel pump will fit in the Range rover 2003 TD6, as mine is on it way out and am looking to get one without been took to the cleaners with Landover prices, the X5 BMW had the same engine just wondering what parts are interchangeable, any feedback would be appreciated.

Scotland 

WHich pump are you talking about Declan, there are 3 fuel pumps on the TD6

High pressure pump on the engine
Secondary pump under the back wheel arch
Tank fuel pump/sender unit

Northern Ireland 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Java Black

The lift pump in the fuel tank can be replaced by a BMW unit. I bought one from eBay and fitted it into my existing sender plastic housing. It was still working perfectly over a year later when I sold the car. Much much cheaper than buying the complete assembly Very Happy Should've been old enough to know better...doh!

It the pump in the fuel tank with the sender unit, B9er do you remenber which pump you bought for it,do you have a number off the BMW fuel pump unit ?.

I know it's for a petrol but gives you an idea.

I have had a look on the euro car parts site and the replacement pump for both the x5 3.0diesel and rr td6 have the same part number, so I am sure that they ate the same. The pump for the 44 petrol is different put looks like a similar part so in theory the principal of swapping them should be the same as in the above post.

I'm not sure what I need. The car normally cuts out at around 75 mile range with just under 1/4 tank showing. I'm told there is a pump that transfers fuel from one side of the tank to the other- would that pump be the offending item?

Highly lightly its the in tank pump then. there is only one pump in the tank and its commonly known as a lift Pump. it does draw fuel from both sides of the tank. If weak and failing, then it often cannot provide enough suction to the left hand (Passenger side of the tank.

The real give away clue for mine when it started to fail was an increase in its noise (do not confuse with the air compressor pump, make sure that's not running when checking the in tank lift pump for noise).

There is a great "how to" on the Landy Zone forum on how to change this pump. there may well be one on here also, but I haven't checked.

Ok Lads by all the replies I am taken it that I pull the lift pump out and replace the pump inside the white caseing
with the pump from the link to ebay, does any body know if the fuel sender 2 off the lift pump has bmw got a similar one to landrovers or do they have a number so I can start looking for one as this has died.
