Squeek when wheel turns

Well 3 weeks since the last problems so about due a faulty. Bloody things are built shockingly.
Anyway, when I turn my steering wheel to the right the car makes a horrible almost corroded rubber bush noise. It's like a creak but sounds like something's about to fall off. Any ideas what it could be?

Funny you say that I've had the drivers side one replaced and when I steered to the right I don't hear a noise but when I steer full lock to the left the noise occurs. That's not been replaced. Ah cock. Back to the garage!

Just actually looked at rave cos there seemed to be a bit of play in mine and it looks fairly simples to change whole arm is about £70.00 and is held on with two bolts. I am fancying a bit of on drive spannering to swap mine over in the next few weeks.

Does anyone know if it will throw the tracking out too much and if so will a high street tyre shop be able to reset it There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Yes looks simple doesn't it but I guess half the battle is having the right tools. Plus if I cock it up I'd be devastated!

I know its not a warranty job so it's off to a garage tomorrow. Need to buy a trolley jack and decent tools to be fair. If anyone's wirral based or north west and knows what they're doing I'd happily pay them Very Happy

Done both mine a couple of weeks ago, it is a simple job if you have a good jack, axle stands and a decent socket set, some ring/open ended spanners and a ball joint splitter.

Only problem I had was splitting the ball joint, needed about 10 good belts with a 20lb sledge hammer as it was tight.

There is a good how to guide in the Wiki (or somewhere on the forum) 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

No reference to splitter in above post? Is it really needed if replacing complete arm as in link above. Seems very straight forward. Thumbs Up Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

The above post isn't the lower ball joint it's the transverse link, the balljoint is behind that link
