Aircon question for RR 2010

Hi all,

Have done Km 2900 so far and very happy with my new RR 2010 Very Happy Thumbs Up Question, now that weather is getting warmer I have used the aircon. a couple of times and I notice that every 10/15 seconds the fan is working on a higher speed for about 4/5 seconds before it gets back to normal, is that normal ?Laughing Also, when I drive without aircon on and turn off the car, when turning on engine again sometimes the aircon is on automatically...shouldn't every thing be the same when you start the engine the way you left it?? Shocked

Thanks,

JJ

Your car doesn't have air con. It has climate control, it's designed to be left on all the time. You should leave it on and then set the temperature you desire. The A/C is used to dehumidify the air, which stops your electronic components malfunctioning as the copper microswitches turn green with the ambient moisture, your headlining sagging and various trim pieces going mouldy.

In answer to your question though, the fan speeding up is due to the face the car has sensed pollution outside and switched to re-circ for you so you don't get fumes in the cabin. To match the ram effect of normal driving the fan speed is increased by 1.

Set the temp and LEAVE it on at all times. The A/C light will always be on as per Dan's post this does NOT mean the system is cooling.
