Does anyone know the procedure for servicing the 6hp26 in my tdv8.

I have had a quick look and there is a small section on an oil change in rave.

Looking at the zf instructions it says that the level needs checking at certain oil temp. What is the best way of determining this temperature and can it be done without and specific diagnostic kit?

Or is it simply a matter of draining the box changing the pan, and sticking in some new fluid until it dribbles out with the box warm. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

If doing the job at home? Jack car up safely and level, first loosen filler bung before loosening the drain bung (no point dropping the fluid if you cannot get any back in!) drop fluid, change sump, refill then run the engine and go up and down the box 10 times allowing the fluid to A, to circulate and B, to warm up... Leave engine running with gear lever in P or N & Fill until the fluid just starts to trickle back out of the filler...

Simples

Debating on whether to do it myself or get the lads at my local multipurpose garage do it if i give them a copy of the instructions..... Looking at the pan it looks like a simple swap, but rave shows you need to disconnect the prop shaft to remove the guard? Is it neccessary? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

No need to remove anything to change the sump... It's very very simple to do

which mine hasn't got.....just checked

did notice while under there that the transfer box is weeping again though
MD resealed it last year. Just a light smear of oil at the moment so will have to get that seen to as well  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

is the pan supposed to come with a Gasket, it seems to have a built in rubber seal, but looking on Microcat it seems to show a gasket included in the kit?

The GEN pan i have of Dan doesn't have a separate gasket only the rubber seal, however the flange round the edge isn't a flat surface so wouldn't take a gasket well in any case...... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
